DoubleURbandwidthTM

Basic E-Line Point-to-Point
Ethernet Virtual Connection (EVC)

MetroConnectTM  Carrier Ethernet

Basic SLA

Performance 2 Classes of Service per EVC

A basic SLA is for applications that require minimal guarantees and where cost per Mbps is the key requirement.

50% of the EVC bandwidth is allocated with a Committed Information Rate (CIR) and is for end-users requiring low delay (Latency) for some of their traffic and is an ideal service class for packet voice (VoIP) and Video applications. The additional Excess Information Rate (EIR) bandwidth that we have added, doubles the bandwidth and allows customers to not only burst above their chosen base rate, but also have the flexibility of higher speeds.

DoubleURbandwidthTM is a Basic E-Line Point-to-Point Ethernet Virtual Connection  (EVC) that extends the End-User Ethernet sites to a Service Provider Network Cloud or between two End-Users for, Ethernet Virtual Private Lines (EVPL) and Ethernet Internet Access.

DoubleURbandwidthTM offers a unique EVC solution for customers who require the greatest flexibility at the lowest cost.

DoubleURbandwidthTM, is available in two bandwidth options: 2+2Mbps (4Mbps) and a 4+4Mbps (8Mbps).  50% of the EVC bandwidth is allocated to a Committed Information Rate (CIR) for end-users requiring low delay (Latency) for some of their traffic and is an ideal service class for packet voice (VoIP) and Video applications. The additional Excess Information Rate  (EIR) bandwidth that we have added, doubles the bandwidth and allows customers to not only burst above their chosen base rate, but also have the flexibility of higher speeds.

For Example:

Our 2+2Mbps bandwidth option is allocated with two Classes of service. With 50% of its bandwidth is (2Mbps) tagged with a CIR and the remaining 50% of the bandwidth (2Mbps) is tagged with an EIR.

At any given time, the CIR bandwidth (2Mbps per our example) will not fall below its committed value.

The EIR is the DoubleURbandwidthTM allowance for customers to not only burst above their chosen base rate, but also have the flexibility of higher speeds.

Metrofibre networxTM guarantees that the service connection will always

support the CIR rate, and as well as the EIR rate provides adequate bandwidth.

Additionally, the CIR plus the excess burst rate (EIR) will either be equal to or less than the speed of the access port into the network.

DoubleURbandwidthTM, offers the following bandwidth options and service level agreements (SLAs).

Standard 1+1 (2Mbps)

         12hrs response-time, MFN Basic SLA

Standard 2+2 (4Mbps)

       12hrs response-time, MFN Basic SLA

Standard 4+4 (8Mbps)

    •    12hrs response-time, MFN Basic SLA

Here at Metrofibre networxTM we ensure that our network designs have sufficient resiliency built-in to meet the most stringent of Service Level Agreements.

DoubleURbandwidthTM is only available with a basic SLA.  A basic SLA is for applications that require minimal guarantees and where cost per Mbps is the key requirement. In keeping the cost low, the Service Provider installs his own router to interface with the Customers Equipment (CE) that has been interoperability certified/tested to interfaces directly to the MFN Access Fibre network. Or an optional MFN fibre to UTP converter added at an additional cost.

Note: for a Basic SLA, it’s the Service Provider responsibility to report their customers service problems to the MFN NOC.

Metrofibre networxTM is a “Carrier Class Open Access” Metro Ethernet Network that is “Open” to all Service Providers, to deliver content to their customers on equal terms and designed with an high-level of Performance Assurance, based on the Metro Ethernet Form (MEF) 9/14.
